Social Responsibility

As a family owned business of Louisville, we’re committed to making a positive difference for our Residents, Sun Residential Employees, and our community.  Here are some of the things we have done to make this difference:

Energy Efficiency:

• We’ve installed over 230,000 square feet of additional attic insulation- that’s enough to cover nearly five football fields,
• We’ve installed over 4,000 quality energy efficient windows and doors,
• We’ve installed nearly 150,000 square feet of white reflective flat roofing- that’s enough to cover over three football fields.
• We’ve converted 97% of our common area lighting to energy efficient LED lighting.

Community Gardens and Tree Planting

We’ve built 72 individual large organic garden plots for our residents’ use at our properties.  These are fenced, annually tilled and composted, and have water availability.  These are amazing community gardens!  We also continue to plant a variety of shade and ornamental trees at our properties each year.  We’ve planted over a hundred trees during 2019 and 2020.
